Dear Family and Friends,
This mid-winter’s letter is to replace the absent Christmas greetings, as my head was elsewhere over the holidays.
Last year I tried to do it all, and accomplished a lot.
I handled programs and was Secretary for my administrative professional’s chapter through June. During that same time I even took on a committee at the division level; basically, I helped them meet a criteria.
In May I gave a short presentation at work; gave a different presentation at my chapter in June; then gave a shortened version of that presentation at work in December. Fun but stressful.
I ran for City Council. It was two and a half months of marketing materials, phone calls, a little door knocking, and then a respectable last place in the voting. I say respectable, because I, at least, felt like an unknown, yet with 311 votes I was only 3 votes below a city committee member and missed making it to the next election by only 66 votes. Not bad for such a short time.
Mom has been very supportive during all of this and I have really appreciated it. It’s really nice to live with someone who believes in me and lets me stretch my wings.
Throughout this time I’ve been attending a Bible study with Mom and have seen God’s hand on the group. I’m both encouraged and challenged in my personal relationship and commitment to God and my faith. And I want to see more. I think this is the area of my life I am most anticipating seeing grow in 2011.
As for other projects, don’t be surprised if you see a couple of how-to videos out there that bear my name. That and downsizing are a few of my goals for this New Year.
I pray that God has his hand on your lives and that you are seeing growth now and throughout the New Year.
